BIOGRAPHY
Judy Hurt Holladay was born in Miami Florida and lived on a farm in Hayneville, Alabama (between Montgomery and Selma) for years. She now lives in Birmingham, Alabama. Judy has taken selected art classes from Auburn University at Montgomery, and has been a part of the Selma, Alabama Atelier (taught by Richard Mills) since 1986.
STYLE
"My
recent work in watercolor explores the use of geometric shapes and patterns
of intense color. I strive to create the illusion of shifting planes, playful
exaggerations and occasional incongruent forms that provide suprise and interest
to the viewer. My future work will include more lively abstractions to convery
my strong feeling about color, line and shape."
